Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) is a national program started in 1987 that provides management guidelines for beef cattle production. Food safety and quality are the most important consumer benefits of a quality assurance program. Producers have embraced BQA because it is the right thing to do; but they have also gained through increased profitability. The BQA influences the management of more than 90% of cattle. As an educating program, BQA helps producers identify management processes that can be improved.
The Western Regional BQA Program comprises partners from 12 western states to provide a core curriculum for Beef Quality Assurance trainers and producers.
